Nerves, eyes, leg blood flow and kidneys checked on a fixed schedule.
Diabetes quietly affects nerves, blood vessels, eyes and kidneys years before you feel anything. We check all of them on a fixed schedule: VPT for nerves, fundus camera for the eyes, doppler for blood flow in the legs and urine protein with kidney tests. Damage caught early can be treated; damage caught late cannot.
